In November last year we brought forward an exciting new vision to transform 259 Plaistow Road in Newham – the former Dagenham Ford garage next to Plaistow underground station.

The scheme – called Plaistow Place – will aim to be an integral part of the community, offering existing and future residents new facilities and opportunities to grow, flourish and enjoy. This will include a new secondary school, new homes, a small local food shop, a café, community facilities and public spaces.

Consultation

This consultation website will give you a chance to look at our more detailed proposals for Plaistow Place and share your feedback. You will also have an opportunity to see how we have evolved our designs following your feedback from our previous consultation in November 2020.

Following this consultation, we will prepare a planning application, with the intention to submit to Newham Council later this spring.

HEAR FROM US

Earlier in March, we held two online community engagement events to present our detailed plans to the public. You can view all of the information shown on the proposals page, and contact us with any questions you have here.

These will take place on:

Saturday 13 March 2021, 10-11am  Sign up here

Tuesday 16 March 2021, 6-7pm  Sign up here

Demolition and remediation works

Demolition, remediation and enabling works continue to take place on the site, carried out by Soilfix. This is to prepare the site for future construction works, which will require planning permission from Newham Council. We will be providing regular updates on the works on this website. If you have any queries, please get in touch.

Covid-19

We will not be holding any in-person public events at this stage as part of our consultation and will continue to follow Government guidelines on Covid-19.
